Our Awana program is a midweek child discipleship ministry for kids from preschool through 6th grade. During our weekly club time, kids learn about Christ's love for them and other Biblical truths through large group teaching, small group time with volunteer leaders, and engaging group games. Through intentional discipleship and encouraging scripture memorization, we seek to plant the truth's of God's Word deep in the next generation's hearts and minds.

First Night of Awana
Wednesday, September 9th,  5:45-7:30pm

Preschoolers (3-5 year olds)

In Cubbies, Bible stories & memory verses are used to encourage preschoolers to learn the Core Truths that God Is Our Creator, God Is the One True God, Jesus Is the Good Shepherd, Jesus Loves All People, Jesus Came to Save Us, and Jesus Says to Tell the Good News.  Cubbies alternate between the HoneyComb and AppleSeed Handbooks. Cubbies is for potty trained preschoolers who are are at least 3 by Sept. 1.

Kindergarten - 2nd Graders

Sparks ignites the curiosity of kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.  The green HangGlider handbook includes Bible content from Genesis to Joshua, the blue WingRunner handbook covers Bible content from Judges to the birth of Christ, and finally the red SkyStormer handbook reviews the birth of Christ to Revelation.

3rd - 6th Graders

This year our T&T clubbers are on the purple Evidence of Grace Handbook where they will explore some of the fundamental doctrines of Christianity! They will spend time learning about the character and nature of God, the structure and sequence of the Bible, the redemption narrative, and key discipleship practices! Each section includes an introductory activity, a Bible study, a prayer section guiding them on how to specifically pray for different countries in the world, and optional extra credit opportunities to dive deeper in their Scripture memory and study of God’s Word.

What happens weekly at Awana?
A night at an Awana club balances connection, learning the Gospel, and having fun to help kids grow relationally and spiritually. Our club follows Awana's All Together Method so that the main Bible theme of the night is integrated throughout the evening since all children in each club do the same section each night.
During Large Group Time clubbers enjoy worship and a Bible Lesson over the handbook section they practiced at home that week.
Game Time allows for fun and engaging team building activities among peers.
Finally, during Small Group time children get to dive deeper into the Bible lesson and memory verse for the week with their leader and peers while enjoying a snack.
Awana Gear Provided
After a child completes their clubs entrance book & has made their registration payment, the clubber will receive a Handbook, special Club Bag, and Club Uniform to bring each week to Awana! Awana also provides the handbook patches and jewels earned throughout the year as well as the end of year awards if the child completes their book.
Awana Awards
Each club has special awards that clubbers can earn as they complete sections in their handbook.
Cubbies earn apple patches that can be attached to the “A” or "C" on their vests depending on the corresponding handbook
Sparkies earn Red & Green Jewels in the Sparky Wings every time they complete a a section.  They also earn stickers and Blue Jewels for attendance.
T&T clubbers earn colored emblems every time they complete 4 sections in their Handbooks.  Clubbers get to attach their emblems to their uniforms in whatever creative pattern they would like!
At the end of the year, every clubbers who completes their handbook by getting all their sections signed off by their leader will receive a Book Completion Award at the End of the Year Celebration.  If your child has not completed their book, they will still receive a certificate of participation on stage.
How can I help my child be successful?
Our goal at Awana is to partner with parents in the spiritual discipleship of their child.  We hope to provide resources & opportunities for you to be having spiritual conversations with your child to deepen their relationship with Jesus.

Please take time each week to read over your child's handbook lesson and practice their Bible Verse so your child can feel confident saying their memorized verse to their leader each week.

Every week your child should wear their uniform as well as closed toed running shoes and bring their Bible, bag, handbook, and water bottle.
Awana Bucks & Awana Store
Clubbers in Sparks and T&T have the opportunity to earn Awana Bucks each week that they are then able to spend at a monthly Awana Store.  Children earn bucks for positive participation, memorizing their Bible Verse, and by bringing to club their Handbook, Bible, & Uniform.
We welcome any store item donations :)
What if my child misses a week or starts Awana later in the year?
When your child returns to club, they will continue on track with the handbook section that the rest of the club is on rather than the next blank section in your child's book. Please refer to the Handbook Calendar each week to know what section your child should be working on. Your child can always complete missed sections later by letting their leader know they are prepared to say their missed memory verse and have that section signed off by a leader.
